Abstract The apple industry uses high flows of potable quality water to transport and clean the apple, which is regularly contaminated. Thus, it necessary implement an efficient treatment system during industrial process, providing reductions in intake release flows. A hybrid was developed by applying electrolytic electrocoagulation using a batch process (Step 1) continuous 2), followed microfiltration membrane separation (MSP) 3). optimal conditions for removal organic matter, chemical oxygen demand, total suspended solids (TSS), turbidity, color, fungi obtained Step 1 were hydraulic detention time 40 min, stirring at rpm, current density 20 A/m2, pH 8.00, temperature 10 °C.
